Nick DeSalvo2 StarBottom Line: Would not hire them again; I had a great technician with reasonable diagnostic & trip fee ($49) that seems predatory to get you to call, highway robbery pricing ($380/hr) and even if you know the issue they refuse to give any type of pricing ranges over the phone (even if you ask the specific part and labor/service). A 60 minute job to replace one valve was in total $525 with no after hours or holiday fees. I want to highlight the pricing since no other review has.
Detail: I had the gas valve go bad on my gas furnace and needed it replaced. The company has good reviews so I called and it was a reasonable diagnostic fee of $49. Since I knew the issue I asked if they could give a pricing range over the phone to which they said it would not be possible. I asked even if I know the exact service I need, unit, or anything. They would not even provide a labor cost. I should have paid attention to this red flag but went with them anyways. The technician was very nice and courteous and knew his stuff so I have no issues with the technician or what he did as he doesn’t control pricing but what he came back with for pricing was shocking… to replace the valve including parts and labor was $475 on top of the diagnostic fee of $49. Nearly $525 which was another red flag I didn’t listen to about this company and I agreed. Shortly after I looked into the actual part cost which was $95 for the original part on Amazon. So for essentially what is 60 minutes of labor for the job it’s $380/hr… it’s highway robbery in my opinion. Note this is a fixed fee, I also did not have any holiday or after hours fees, this is their standard pricing. I would never hire this company again based on this, I’m sure given they won’t give any pricing ranges over the phone is by design. Lure customers in with good diagnostic fees and then slam them with ridiculous costs. When I do replace my HVAC this kind of behavior ensures when I do have expensive work like a unit replacement I will not call them.
Note, in full transparency they offer a subscription that will reduce the price (does not apply to diagnostic fee) by 10% but the cost of the subscription will only net out to $0 if the service is I believe over $1k.Wednesday 8th January 2025

The guys who came were attentive, and looked not only at the issue, but how to resolve the issue for the future. They cleaned everything and returned it exactly where it was.
